Shannon and Dan share a love for the outdoors, so it was perfectly appropriate for us to meet at First Landing State Park in Virginia Beach for their engagement photos. This was also the place of one of their first dates years ago, so this spot will always hold a special place in the couple’s hearts. The glowing light of the overcast sky mixed with Virginia’s cool fall breeze made for a peaceful afternoon. The session included a short canoe ride, some barefoot water wading, a waterside picnic with guitar serenading, and a lot of sweater snuggling. Their wedding will be at Fair Winds Farm in Virginia Beach next year! All film was shot on a Contax 645 with Portra 400 film, developed by Photovision Prints.
She went to Yale and he went to Princeton, but fate brought them together in Louisville at a Yale alumni happy hour. The moment I met Kristin and Wai in person, I knew that a Kentucky Derby themed wedding was the perfect fit for this fun-loving pair! Their wedding was full of amazing derby details, to include Southern bow ties and cummerbunds, jockey cuff links, horseshoe name tags, bourbon truffles, monogramed silver julep cups, and more! There was definitely no shortage of bourbon and fun at this wedding!

This spring, I was fortunate enough to participate in Michael and Carina’s Little Workshop at the acclaimed Agecroft Hall, a restored English manor nestled in the heart of Richmond, Virginia. The quiet steps of Agecroft’s sunken garden were combined with delicate lace, soft florals, a secluded tablescape, and Himalayan sea salt, making for quite a rejuvenating vision and experience. The creative team credits are listed below! All photos were shot on a Contax 645 with Fuji 400H film, developed by Richard Photo Lab.

Kirstyn and Andy are the type of couple you can’t help but love! Their smiles are genuine, their laughs are contagious, and their dog Abbey is the sweetest thing! The pair has been through a lot, but their positive attitudes speak otherwise. Earlier this year, Andy was in a terrible motorcycle accident that resulted in many serious injuries and broken bones. Kirstyn stayed by her husband’s side and lived at the hospital for an entire month as they waited for answers. I can only imagine the sleepless nights and emotional exhaust. Now, five months after the accident, Andy is on a long road of rehabilitation to recovery, but his best friend is there for him “for better or for worse.” This was quite an inspiring session! On a separate note, I love when couples bring pets to sessions, but when they bring flower necklaces for their pets to wear…be still my heart! I about died when I saw the perfect, Abbey-sized necklace Kelly Gish created for this session! And Abbey even sat and smiled for a photo! On another note, Kirstyn is a talented wedding photographer!
