Frequently Asked Questions

What kind of photography do you offer and what is your style?

I am a hybrid wedding and portrait photographer, fluent in both digital and analog photography. Setting trends aside, I strive to create timeless and authentic imagery with an elegant, classic, and clean style. I take a photojournalistic-meets-natural-styled approach to each session I shoot, so I will give you plenty of space, but also be there to help with natural looking posing.

Do you shoot film?

Yes, yes, yes! I love the dynamic range and timelessness of analog photography! I own two Contax645 medium format cameras and two 35mm cameras! Depending on the style of your wedding and your personal preferences, I will supplement with more or less film! Whatever I do not shoot on film, I shoot on Nikon D4 and D5s.

How much experience do you have?

I have had the privilege of photographing more than 100 weddings since 2010, so I have experience shooting a variety of weddings in rain, snow, and sunshine. I briefly worked as a digital retoucher and commercial photographer, so I also have extensive knowledge about digital editing. I transitioned to a full time wedding photographer in 2013 after obtaining a Certificate of Professional Photography through The New York Institute of Photography.

What is it like to work with you?

I am laid back, but extremely organized at the same time. I try hard to make clients laugh and feel comfortable so I can bring out the most authentic expressions in photos.

Has your work ever been published in wedding magazines or blogs?

Yes, I am honored to have been recently featured in The Knot Magazine, Style Me Pretty, Weddings Unveiled, Utterly Engaged, Southern Weddings, and Washingtonian Bride and Groom.

How can we find out about your rates and availability?

To insure quality and high-end service, I accept a select number of weddings each year. On average, couples spend between 4,800 and 8,000 USD, depending on the size and destination of the wedding. Contact me to receive a detailed collection guide!

Do you travel to weddings?

Absolutely! I am currently based in Virginia, but am willing to travel anywhere in the world! My passport is current!

How long will it take to get my images back?

A fair turnaround is important to me, so photos will be ready no later than 4 weeks after your wedding.

How many images can I expect?

I shoot roughly 50-100 images per hour, so an 8 hour wedding will yield 500-800 images.

Do you ever bring an assistant to weddings?

Yes, I rarely shoot a wedding without an assistant!

What do your albums look like?
